BMW has launched hybrid versions of its X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition Hybrid high-performance SUVs.

These new models combine a twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine with an electric motor to produce 765 hp and 849 Nm of torque.

The SUVs can go from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and have a top speed of 290 km/h.

2024 X5 M Competition hybrid SUV starts at $123,295, while the X6 M Competition starts at $128,195.

The hybrid drivetrain includes an eight-speed automatic transmission, which integrates the electric motor with the V8 petrol engine.

The 24-kilowatt-hour batteries in the hybrid SUVs can be charged using a standard Level 2 charger or a DC fast charge.

The hybrid models offer a range of driving modes, including an electric-only mode for zero-emissions driving.
